Poulsbo Farmers Market Is Back

Opening day is next Saturday, March 28, 10am to 2pm at the Gateway Fellowship lot on 8th Ave NE. Free to show up, and it runs every Saturday through December 12. If you've been eating sad winter produce for four months, this is your exit ramp.

Fast Ferries Set Records on Parade Day and Now They're Prepping for the World Cup

When the Seahawks parade hit Seattle on February 11, Kitsap Transit's fast ferries broke single-day ridership records on all three routes - Bremerton, Kingston, and Southworth. KT Executive Director John Clauson said the agency is already applying the lessons directly to FIFA World Cup planning this summer.

BIMA's Spring Shows Are Open

The Bainbridge Island Museum of Art opened its "Handwork 2026" exhibitions on March 6 as part of a national celebration of American craft tied to the country's 250th anniversary. The anchor show is "Deeply Rooted," a retrospective of Bainbridge's own George and David Lewis, the sculptors who spent decades making that garden at Little & Lewis into something people drove from Seattle to see. Free admission, runs through early June.

Hidden Gem: Point No Point, Late Afternoon

The lighthouse at Point No Point is the oldest on Puget Sound, and on a clear-ish late-March afternoon, the kind where the clouds break just before the sun drops, it's one of the better places to stand on this peninsula and feel like you've got the whole thing to yourself. The beach is wide and stony and usually empty on a weekday. Park at the end of Point No Point Road in Hansville, walk five minutes, and you'll understand why people don't leave Kitsap. The equinox light hits different out there.

Ferry Watch

Hood Canal Bridge: Daytime closures through April 26. WSDOT bridge preservation crews are running an in-depth inspection that requires the drawspan to open twice daily on weekdays, with closures at approximately 10am and again at 2:30pm, each lasting up to an hour. Times vary slightly, so if you're heading across on a weekday, build in a buffer. Sign up for alerts at hoodcanalbridge.com or through the WSDOT app.

New WSF card surcharge, as of March 1. Washington State Ferries is now adding a 3% cost recovery fee to all credit and debit card transactions at the dock. Easy fix: cash or a pre-loaded ORCA card. It's not a lot of money but it's an annoying surprise if you don't know it's coming.
